Hello! I'm Travis Van Bumble

I am a professional performing jazz guitarist, USF alumnus, teacher, business owner, and most of all, a husband and father of two sons.

​

I have been a professional performer in the Tampa area for 6+ years, and I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Jazz Performance and Composition at USF.

​

I believe picking up an instrument is the beginning of a lifelong relationship with music. There’s always more to discover, from technique and improvisation to music theory, composition, and the way we hear and understand music.

​

We’re never really finished learning, and I think that’s what makes being a musician so rewarding. My goal as a teacher is to make that process approachable, creative, and fun while helping each student develop a genuine understanding of their instrument as well as their own musical voice.

Guitar is my primary instrument and the heart of my teaching, with a particular focus on jazz, improvisation, theory, ear training, and composition.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s interests, goals, and experience level. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to take your playing further, we’ll build the skills and understanding to help you become a more confident musician.
